I use to moan and groan about the future of our youth. Then I visited Florida Career College (FCC), West Palm and Lauderdale Lake. All I can say is WOW, we do have talented youth who are staying trades. I am no longer moaning and groaning, because I assure we will are and we all will be in great hands. We will be in great thanks to students preparing themselves in career trades like automotive, HVAC, Billing, Medical Assistants, Business Development, etc., at FCC.
The instructor is great. He teaches from his experience, books, and lots of hands on. He also assists you in your personal development and professional skills.
I attended FCC Lauderdale Lakes since February and finished last month was GUARANTEED a graduation but that was a lie. It was an incredibly disappointing experience. The teaching quality was subpar, with many instructors seeming disinterested or unqualified to teach their subjects. The facilities were often in disrepair, and there was a notable lack of resources for students. The administrative staff were unresponsive and unhelpful, making it difficult to address any issues or concerns. Additionally, the career services team even encouraged us to leave our current jobs that we had for externships, even though I felt I was barely taught anything of value during my time there. Now, I am facing the prospect of paying off significant loans for an education that has left me with nothing of substance to show for it. I’m also frustrated with the fake reviews that were obviously coerced by the school to make them look good amidst the current lawsuit against them. However, I want to acknowledge Mrs. Roseway, the only teacher, THE BEST INSTRUCTOR who cared enough to ensure we learned the fundamentals needed for our externship and for our future career. She fought hard and sacrificed her time for us, and I am incredibly grateful for her dedication. She deserves all the flowers and praise because she did that! She was even there for the students who didn’t have her class. She was literally a diamond in the rough. Unfortunately, the career services, financial team, and director were no help at all and seemed to care only about themselves. Furthermore, the counselors who were initially available at the school from the beginning were no longer there to provide assistance, which was confusing and frustrating. Overall, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Florida Career College to anyone, and I am relieved to hear that it is shutting down. Hopefully, this closure will prevent others from having to endure the same disappointing educational experience.
The staff at FCC is amazing. They’re always there for you to assist is many ways. My instructor is Mrs.Thomas, and I can honestly say that I’m very grateful and happy with her. I’ve learned so many things that I thought I will never. Mrs.Thomas is so kind hearted and has such a passion for what she does. She has such great patience and a way to welcome everyone with positivity and opened arms. I can honestly say, she’s the best!
My teacher, Ms. Merritt from the dental assistant program is the best teacher I’ve had since leaving high school. She makes us feel welcome and want to come to class everyday. She also makes learning fun, almost everyday we have a fun learning exercise. Thanks to my advisor Mr. Oliver, who helped me sign up and begin. These two people really helped with the great experience I’m having at FCC so far. Thank you guys xoxo.
