I had a great experience with Elcon Electric from the quoting to the scheduling. I found them on consumer reports and I made the right decision. Rusty and the other technician were friendly, focused, experienced and did an excellent job with the services. They were very flexible and patient as I didnt have the right equipment the first day so they came back the next day. They kept me informed as they were doing the work and even showed me options to help me make decisions. I will definitely use them again and would highly recommend them.

These guys have always excelled. The girls at the office (Allie and Laurie) were polite, fast, effective and scheduled us right away. We have an older house form 1969 and who knows who and how they wired this thing - we call it the electric ghost house. We had an issue with some lights and outlets suddenly without power. David Suarez the technician from Elcon arrived the same day as we requested an appointment and he went to work resolving the issue right way. He pinpointed the problem and fixed it. -This guys is excellent and has great manners and connects with us as customers understanding the problem resolving it fast. Fantastic technical and human qualities - keep it up. He is a great asset for Elcon. We have used them before for our Pool electrical equipment installation, installing an adapter for our whole house generator and some other minor stuff - always great.

What a mistake I made in hiring Elcon. Their estimate was 25% more than my other estimate from a licensed well-reviewed electrician, but I went with Elcon because I thought hiring a large company would help ensure things went smoothly, efficiently and give me some peace of mind. Unfortunately, the result was just the opposite.
There were two fairly simple jobs. The first was to install an outlet on the opposite side of drywall where there is already a switch. The electrician took out the switch where you can clearly see the other side of the wall yet he still cut right in front of the stud exposing over 4 inches of stud. Why he didn’t use a stud finder or drill a small hole first before cutting completely baffles me. He did fess up to it immediately and patched it, but never bothered to apologize. I had to match/buy paint to match the wall and cover the patch.
Next he installed a non-GFI outlet in a laundry room which is against NEC code. When I informed him that the outlet was not to code, he said their estimator didn’t put a GFI on the quote. Yet I specifically requested a GFI outlet in my email to them - both in writing AND in a photo of the job. Why neither their estimator nor their electrician followed NEC code was concerning, but he did switch the outlet eventually.
The other job was to install an outdoor wired box for a camera which was clearly titled as such on the quote. When I showed the electrician where the box was to be installed, he said he didn’t have a box with him. How he did not have one of only two fixtures needed for the job is beyond me. Also, instead of going to get the box before starting the job, he did it after the wires were threaded and exposed. He was gone for over an hour when there is a Lowes right next door to me and decided to work on the inside outlet first for another hour plus. If it had rained, my entire pool wiring (which he wired up to) would have gotten wet.
I paid him in full and contacted their office via email to explain what happened. Their office manager did apologize, but her unhelpful solution to my wasted time and extra money I had spent to paint was to schedule more time with me so their estimator could “spot check” the electrician’s work. After telling her I didn’t have time for that, she just kept insisting on that being the solution so I cut my losses and moved on. Not only did their lack of trust in their own electrician make me worry about the completed install, but it would have been the third time I had to take time away from work for their convenience. This is because instead of using the detailed request I sent them of the job, the estimator still wanted to see it in person. And when he arrived, he asked questions that were already in my request and took the same photos I already sent. When I finally pointed out that it was all in my request, he was surprised to see it already there.
Thankfully, I only scheduled Elcon for 2 of the 4 jobs they estimated for me. I was going to schedule those at a later date but after this experience, I decided to hire another company for the remaining jobs..
Update 1: In response to Elcon’s reply, Never did she write “we would do whatever was necessary to resolve the situation to your satisfaction”. She didn’t even offer to reimburse me for the paint I had to buy to cover their mistake.
Update 2: We did eventually need to have Elcon come back to “check the techs work” because our pool equipment stopped working a week after they installed the box/camera to it. They had no solution since they were not familiar with the pool wiring they hooked up to and suggested we call our pool company. Turned out to be a simple tripped breaker which they did not bother to check.
Update 3: The camera they installed failed. Upon inspection, the camera bracket was installed UPSIDE DOWN causing water to enter the camera. I am now out the money to replace the ruined camera and reinstall.

We hired Elcon to provide electrical work in our new home in Fort Lauderdale. For the most part. the work was performed when we were not there and they did a great job. Totally trustworthy! They completed their work once we returned and they were professional, responsive and attentive and made sure the work was completed to our satisfaction. Hat's off to Ali in the office, "JJ" (John Jiminez) and David who completed the job. Thank you.

Interviewed 3 companies to replace my panel. Elcon was streamlined. Stayed in contact during permits, David did the work in the time they said. Clean worker and no inspection issues. Great job!
