I took my bearded dragon to this clinic, hoping to do what was best for him. I told them I didn’t want to put him through unnecessary suffering, but instead of discussing quality-of-life options, they strongly recommended $1,200 worth of tests, including blood work, bacterial cultures, and X-rays. They also gave him a B-12 injection, fluids, prescribed pain medication, antibiotics, and powdered food. When I asked about euthanasia, they discouraged it and insisted on further testing. I trusted their advice, but sadly, he passed away later that night.
They initially told me the blood work would take 48 business hours, yet when I called the next morning, they already had the results and said the vet would call me. By then, it didn’t matter—he was already gone. They refunded the bacterial culture, but I can’t help but wonder if his final hours could have been handled with more compassion and honesty.
Looking back, I wish I had been given more guidance on what was truly in his best interest, rather than being encouraged to proceed with extensive tests, injections, and medications that did not change the outcome. I am heartbroken knowing that I put him through more stress than necessary. I strongly recommend seeking an opinion from a vet who prioritizes humane options before making a decision.

Do not take any of your animal to this place ! Horrible place.
I took my bird because she had emergency, this place advised that can see my bird.
When I got there, Dr R told us that he will try to fix her leg to splint also see air bubble around her leg and he will try to put a needle to take it.
After I explained how important my pet, he came back said it is bad news, cannot do the procedure.
I asked what he will do if that was his pet, he said euthanize her. Also out of his specialty, suggested to take her to Fort Lauderdale emergency to monitor her because she will most likely die on the way back home.
She was fine when we got home, we were able to find another vet that can perform surgery and she is doing fine.
Then this woman from the office called me because I left bad review about my experience. Unbelievable!
She tried to justify, said not everyone can afford to take a pet to specialist to get treatment so that’s why the option was given. Also she mentioned that no other places were able to take my pet at the time but we took her to our office to see her.
Really… this wellby vet emergency visit cost was expensive than specialist visit.
If you take your pet there, your beloved pet will not survive, very uncared cold hearted people there.
I cannot believe how she try to manipulate what happened. Don’t ever call me or justify your false practice.

Everyone at Welleby is so friendly and professional. I always ask a million questions and all of the staff are very patient with me. Especially Dr. Ramirez! All of my family's pets(5 dogs and one cat) go here.

Kinda putting my foot in my mouth here because a few months ago Welleby was great regarding an issue with my hamster. So great, that I decided to go back with my dog who is a mini Yorkie and had a leg problem. We go in for the appointment and do x-rays, where I am told he fractured his leg and they were going to get a second opinion from an ortho. Was told in the room the cost was $800. Get up front and the cost goes to $877. I then get a call later that same day saying to bring my dog back in for blood work (that would be no charge) since we were just in that morning because they recommend surgery. We take him back and surprise!! $200…… we get that addressed, and in the midst of this, a “surgery estimate” was being put together. I follow up on it several times to no avail. They asked originally if I wanted to schedule the surgery for Monday. Not one time was I told this was urgent for my dog’s leg to function. I guess they just needed more money after depleting me that morning. We were supposed to have a follow up tomorrow, but I told them to go ahead and cancel because aside from conflicting price information they have now dropped the ball on my dog’s treatment. How do we go from “we’re putting together a surgery estimate” to “the surgery needed to be done within 5 days” ??? Photos attached for my communications. Do not make the costly and useless mistake that I did!

The staff and veterinarian at Willoughby veterinary Hospital are the best in town. They will treat your fur baby like their own. They will give you prices directly and work with you if you need any type of assistance, A+ for everyone, this is the only place that I will take my dogs from now on.
