Aug 2024 my 3 kitties were due for the 3 year Purevax rabies vaccine. After reading about rabies vaccine possible adverse reactions, effects at injection site. I read about Purevax 3 year feline rabies vaccine . Purevax is adjuvant free vaccine. To give a brief explanation. I copied this ; “Adjuvants have been the source of significant controversy since they were implicated as a potential cause of feline injection-site sarcomas (FISS), a type of cancer that may occur at the site of injections in cats. Although the relationship between adjuvants and FISS remains the subject of ongoing debate and research, it seems prudent to avoid the use of adjuvants in feline vaccines, provided that these new non-adjuvanted vaccines offer protection that is comparable to similar vaccines formulated with adjuvants. Until now, non-adjuvanted rabies vaccines for cats only provided one-year protection from rabies infection.” Since now Bohlinger offers 3 year Purevax feline rabies . I live in Broward county Florida and though my 3 cats are always inside the county and my condo association requires it. My 3 kitties are my heart, my everything and I want to do all possible to give them their best life. A long life! This is why I only want to give them this Purevax 3 year non adjuvant rabies vaccine. After making many phone calls. I thought I was going to have to drive to Orlando or Palm beach to a vet that did offer Purevax. I had extreme anxiety about taking the long drive with my 3 cats. As they too do not like to leave home , even when the vet visit is down the road. I called Animal hospital of Hallandale and spoke with Brenda. To my relief she advised that they did have the Purevax . I went 1 week before to reconfirm and it turns out they had the 1 year not the 3 year. I asked if they can order the 3 Purevax 3 year rabies vaccine for my 3 kitties. They said they will reach out to their representative and call me back. To my surprise a few days later I received the great news. I made appointment and my 3 kitties received the Purevax 3 year adjuvant free rabies vaccine on Aug 13, 2024. I also love the fact that everything is done right infront of me. I was with my 3 kitties the whole time . That is always my request and honestly that just happened without me having to ask. Every one at animal hospital of hallandale was very professional, and friendly. Thank you to everyone there for accommodating my request to order the 3 year Purevax rabies vaccine. Brenda, Julia and Jeffrey really made my day. I am truly grateful. I also love the sign with all the names of the animals with appointments that day. Mine are Mikko 🫶 Miyuki 🫶 and Sachiko 🫶♥️😻

I needed a vet for my dog and should have planned ahead before I needed one. Thank goodness I found Animal Hospital of Hallandale. They were able to fit my dog into the schedule which I greatly appreciated. Dr. Cepeda was thorough and kind. Best of all he knew just what to do for my dog. Brenda and Shannon at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Jeffery a vet tech was so kind. He was who I talked to on the phone initially. He helped put my mind at ease. Luis who helped Dr. Cepeda examine my dog was great with my dog and very nice. Julia showed me exactly how to give my dog the oral medicine I needed to give to her which was a new way for me to do it. Great idea!

My scottish fold cat was seen by Dr. Cepeda, and it was such a disappointment. The place is all about making money. But I'm giving 1 star for the doctor's knowledge. I suspected arthitis in my cat. Showed a video of my cat to the vet. The vet didn't even take out a cat out of a carrier and suggested doing XR of a paw and the neck for suspected pinched nerve. Since when does XRay show nerves? And why to XRay left paw, right paw, neck, spine? It's a skinny cat, not a horse. Just put her on a table and Xray sideways. I said, "Well, can you at least examine a cat? The vet says," Well, I don't think it's necessary, but I can. Took out the cat from the carrier and said the cat is hissing, I can't examine her. We need to sedate her." Sedated the cat, brought the cat back, examined her paws, and said, "Well, the cat is sedated, and she's not as responsive, so her exam is inconclusive." I almost cried, paid for the visit and sedation, and medication. The vet offered a depo-medrol shot for the cat or the oral pain medication. I asked to do both. The vet said it's the same thing. Just take oral pain medicine. Called about 20 clinics asking for XRAY and blood work prices. Almost no one would give out the prices. Huge red flag for any office! They said we only tell the prices after you pay for the visit. Found a place in Fort Lauderdale with good reviews. They had no problem revealing the prices. First thing that the new vet said "it's a Scottish fold cat, they are forbidden for breeding in many countries because a lot of times they end up with inherited severe cartilage defect (aka Scottish Fold Osteochondrodysplasia). Just judging by the way your cat stands and walks, I suspect that. There's no need for rxray. It's a waste of money. Rx doesn't show cartilage or nerves. I'm not going to charge you for the visit cause I can't really help you. Google if you can find any vet universities that do research on generic mutation, and maybe they can ship you a saliva test to test for the mutation. I'm going to give you a month worth of steroid tablets. Cats do very well on them. Don't use that pain medication you were given. It's only for pain and doesn't help with inflammation! And depo-medrol is a shot of a last resort. Thank God you refused it! I found UC Davis University, and they shipped me a genetic test for Scottish folds! Unfortunately, it came back positive for the mutation. Called back the second vet, and she gave me forever refills on prednisolone. I'm eternally grateful to that veterinarian, but it's so sad that one has to go through hell to find an honest and knowledgeable vet.

The care here is top notch. They are incredibly thorough and so loving. Dr Cepedas and Jefferey are the best around. They truly care about my dog and are always here to help. I travel from West Palm Beach to see them and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I cant remember how long my cats have been patients of this animal hospital, I think minimum 8 years, they have seen my two boys get old, have cried with me when we had to put one of them down earlier this year and are part of my journey now, while we bring home a new kitten we found on the streets. I honestly consider them family, Julia and Jeff never gave up on my boys and treated them with so much love. I will continue to thank you guys every day and to the Dr himself, he's amazing, so calm and honest! Thank you :)
