Keep up the great work! This is an amazing organization that provides many volunteering opportunities for anyone to give back to the communities of South Florida. There are just so many in need and it is refreshing to know that there are people and organizations that truly care. HandsOn seems to be managed very efficiently. Alexandria in the Broward office is organized, friendly and super helpful. My children and I have partaken in a number of volunteer activities here and will continue to do so. Check this place out!

I am so impressed with this nonprofit organization and their dedication to both the community they serve and their own team. Their programs and services are making a real impact in the lives of those in need, and they truly care about the people they help. It's clear that they have a strong commitment to compassion and empathy. I also appreciate how well they take care of their own team members, with a supportive and collaborative work environment that fosters personal and professional growth. Overall, I highly recommend this nonprofit to anyone looking to get involved with a truly caring and impactful organization.

I really hate to give a charity a bad review but I feel compelled to do so. I have volunteered on several projects through HandsOn Broward and most of them were okay.
Unfortunately, I just had a second bad experience that leaves me feeling like HandsOn Broward doesn't really know about volunteerism and the value that volunteers bring to the community and to the organization for which they have volunteered.
In all cases, I volunteered because I wanted to help out in the community; as they say "To give back." I was not ordered to do community service nor did I need service hours to graduate. I mention both of these because HandsOn Broward seems to be very focused on tracking the hours of service. This is not a bad thing in and of itself but when it causes one to lose focus, it's not good. I am speculating on this as a reason but it's the most charitable reason that I can attribute to the issues that I encountered.
If you are a "regular" volunteer (like me), I recommend that you volunteer directly with one of the many worthwhile charities that are out there.

My son has participated in the summer program for the past two years and will do so again this summer. Their programs are professionally organized staff is fantastic, especially Melissa! It has been wonderful having this resource to help kids not only complete their required service hours, but to do so in a manner that they learn service to the community is not only important, but satisfying, good, and the right thing to do!

I stumbled upon Hands On Broward while researching community service projects for my middle school twins. Since they were members of the National Junior Honor Society, their school requested that they fulfill 50 community service hours per year. It was soon evident that opportunities for 12 year olds were very scarce but Hands On Broward provided many options for them to participate in. It has since become a family affair, my husband and I volunteer alongside our kids (now in High School) in a variety of projects: baking cupcakes at the Ronald McDonald House, cleaning up Ft. Lauderdale Beach, beautifying Snyder Park, participating in MLK’s National Day of Service, hosting the Teen Volunteer Expo and many more.
Volunteering with Hands On Broward has shown my kids that there is so much more to life and has made them more mature than other kids their age. As a family, it has been an extremely rewarding experience, giving us all a sense of community and a sense of purpose. Finally, it has launched our son into a Leadership Position where he has grown in leaps and bounds. Hands On Broward is a godsend for Broward County and the work they do is invaluable. Keep up the good work!
